Awesome questions Greg! I’ll hit these one by one:
- Although the reseachers say this will be a “low-cost” method, there is no actual number estimate they gave because this finding is really new, and just proven to work.
- With this being a blood test it would be optimal to include this test in the process of more regular blood tests, or to be done with a small blood extraction procedure at your doctor. However there is an unfortunate possibility that this test could be just used as a more convenient way to diagnose cancer in a patient, but by using the same reactionary kick-start that I talked about in the article.
- Definitely tons of parties have a stake in routine cancer testing- it’s gonna imply a huge shift of how we diagnose cancer. Not to mention that these technologies are very new, and need to be scaled up in order for actual use in the population.
